Student Case Study

We caught up with Creative Media and Film Production student Daniella to find out more about why she chose her course and what she wants to do next.

Current Creative Media Production Student Daniella speaking about why she chose the Henley College

"My name is Daniella and I am a second-year student on the Creative Media Production Film and TV (Extended Diploma) at The Henley College.

I have been passionate about filmmaking and media ever since I completed my GCSE Media Studies Course at Langtree School. I have always had an interest in film ever since I was a child and watched the Wizard of Oz for the first time. The memory of an enchanting world in which a young girl goes on an adventure of discovery captured my imagination and ignited my interest in film and storytelling ever since.

Since starting my Creative Media and Film Production course I have been exposed to all aspects of media production. Although I have developed an early interest in documentary making it’s still very early stages to know where I want to take my career. My ambition is to study a BA in Film & TV production at University and I will be working very hard over the coming months to build my portfolio. I also have an interest in journalism, and I enjoy writing, this course is perfect because it gives a variety of skills, I can experience within the film industry.

In my spare time, I have been busy working on the development and launch of an online platform for young creatives to collaborate and share interesting content; and an independent online lifestyle magazine for teenagers (made by teenagers). Soon I will be uploading short journalistic videos of which I explore different themes, by sharing new and exciting stories on this platform. It is with this mindset that I am looking forward to embarking on my journey as a creative."
