Update 4th January 2021

Following this evening’s announcement from the Prime Minister, arrangements for this week remain the same. The curriculum is being delivered online to all students, and students are learning remotely at home.

The only students attending College this week are students who have been asked to attend for specific purposes, and students who are taking diploma qualifications, and who have external examinations this week.

According to the Department for Education, the January external exams for diploma qualifications are taking place as planned. The exams start tomorrow, Tuesday, 5th January and continue to Wednesday, 20th January. If you are scheduled to take an external exam(s) this month, please attend the exam(s).

The phased return of Year 2 A Level students in the w/c Monday 11th January will not now take place. All learning will be delivered online until the February half-term, and students, except for a small number of students who will be invited into College because of special circumstances, will study online at home. Please email your tutor or teacher if you require any further information.

Update 30th December 2020

Arrangements for the Start of Term

The arrangements for students taking exams in the first week of term, w/c Monday, 4th January, will remain the same. If you are scheduled to take an exam in the w/c 4th January, you should come into College for your exam as planned.

Only students who are taking exams, or students who have been contacted by their teacher for other specific reasons, should come into College in the w/c 4th January. Transport into College will resume from Monday, 4th January as usual. College buses will operate as planned. Trains will be running a limited service.

If you have an exam in the w/c 4th January, and you are aware you may have symptoms of the coronavirus, or are awaiting a test result, you should not attend College. Attend College only when you have recovered, or when you have received a negative test result.

In all other cases, the first week of term, w/c 4th January, will be a week of remote learning which you will do at home. Your teacher will contact you at the start of term with instructions about what and how you will study in that week.

From the w/c Monday 11th January, Year 2 A Level students and students who are taking exams should come into College. For Year 1 A Level students, and Year 1 and Year 2 students taking diploma qualifications, the w/c Monday 11th January will be a week of remote learning that you will do at home. Full attendance at College for all students will resume from the w/c Monday, 18th January.

Students who have exams in January should wear a face covering during their examination(s), unless exempt from wearing a face covering, or if you have a reason why you believe you should not wear a face covering. Please let the invigilator know, if you will not be wearing a face covering during the examination.
