Private Investigator Harry talks to Criminology and Forensics & Criminal Investigation students about his role and the opportunities available to them.
Private Detective, Harry Watts, spoke to students studying Criminology and Forensics & Criminal Investigation about his role and the opportunities available at Answers Investigation.
Harry broke down traditional stereotypes of detective work and engrossed students with the real life, nitty-gritty cases he has dealt with that have taken him across the globe to destinations such as Morocco, Ibiza, Portugal and Dubai.
Equipment was passed around including a covert pen camera, DIY Costa cup and vehicle tracking device. Harry informed students of techniques used like fingerprinting and the reality of surveillance and observation.
L3 Extended Diploma Forensics & Criminal Investigation student Ryanna Kyra, from High Wycombe, said, “Harry’s visit was a very good experience and it has definitely broadened my horizons, as I was very set on Pathology before but now I’m keeping an open mind.”
Problem-solving, quick decision-making, assertiveness and fact-finding are just some of the skills suited to a career in private investigation. A flurry of students gathered round Harry at the end to hear about the work experience and apprenticeship opportunities available to them at Answer Investigation's Head Office near Guildford in Surrey.
Harry said, “It was fantastic to be invited here to talk to these joyous students and spread the word about the labour of lucrative delight I call my career.”
Criminology teacher, Mark said, "Harry gave a fantastic talk offering our students career opportunities when they leave college and we look forward to future visits and developing our links."
