The Henley College has recently installed digital advertising screens which have been supplied by Next-Gen Media, a company co-founded by former student and entrepreneur, Guy Thurlow.

The screens enable the college to reach students and staff quickly and efficiently. The screens advertise an allocated amount of screen time, such as promoting upcoming events, followed by an allocated amount of student-related advertisement, from the likes of UniDays to PureGym. The screens have already been rolled out in over 60 different university locations across the UK with a current total of over 300 live screens, with The Henley College being the first sixth form college in the UK to implement them.

Next-Gen Media’s mission is to “change the way in which the world engages with students, giving everyone the opportunity to connect with them all year-round through an official platform. By combining a dual-purpose digital network with sustainability commitments and our ‘in the know’ student team, we are able to deliver the most compelling digital solution for brands, agencies and accommodation providers.”

Guy, from Sonning Common, studied a Business Extended Diploma with us from 2015 and was awarded an impressive Distinction*. Following his time at The Henley College, Guy completed a BA (Hons) Business degree at the University of West of England, graduating with First Class Honours. More recently, he has been awarded the Rising Star category in the Media Week Awards 2023.

Here’s what Guy has to say about collaborating with The Henley College:

We are delighted to be working with The Henley College, who have demonstrated their forward-thinking approach throughout the whole project. Together in partnership, we will be working hard to improve the student experience for all at Henley and ensure they are aware of the wealth of opportunities available to them. On a personal note, I am extremely excited to be working with the college that I attended myself!”

Principal Satwant Deol said, "We take immense pride in Guy's accomplishments during his time here, and his enriching experience at the college has equipped him with a strong foundation for embarking on his entrepreneurial journey. Next-Gen Media is set to revolutionise the way we communicate with our students, catering to the preferences of this tech-savvy generation. The College looks forward to ongoing collaboration on innovative projects with Guy and other outstanding alumni, further enhancing our students' overall experience."

Head of Marketing & Business Development Rhian Mason added "We're genuinely delighted to be collaborating with Next-Gen Media. From initial discussions to installation, their professionalism has been unparalleled. They guided us through the entire process, including engaging with our students to gather their feedback and addressing any questions comprehensively. The training and onboarding have also been superb, and we take great pride in being the first sixth form college in the UK to feature their screen technology. The feedback from both staff and students has been exceptional, and it is extensively used to convey real-time college information, garnering positive comments from visitors in our communal areas. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Next-Gen Media!"

Guy’s experience at The Henley College taught him to be self-managed, which really helped him succeed in further education and progress into his life as an entrepreneur.
