We are excited to announce that first and second year students from a range of courses have come together to launch the college’s entry into this year’s UK Rocketry Challenge (UK ROC) Finals. The college will be represented by two teams, proudly led by Caleb Lancaster and Alex Holman.
The teams include students from physics, mathematics, engineering and marketing courses, showcasing the interdisciplinary collaboration that makes this project truly unique. They meet every Friday morning, dedicating their time and skills to designing, building and preparing their rockets for the national competition.
The UK ROC Finals is an annual event that challenges students to apply their academic knowledge in a practical, competitive environment by building and launching rockets towards specific targets. Participation in this project not only enhances students’ technical abilities but also fosters teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills.
We encourage all students interested in enrichment activities to explore the many opportunities available across campus. Joining initiatives like the UK ROC Rocketry teams is a fantastic way to gain hands-on experience, develop new skills and connect with fellow students.
