Financial assistance 2025-26: 

The college may be able to offer financial assistance to students with household incomes below £30,000.00 per annum, and those who are care leavers or in local authority care. 

A student must be aged 16-18 on 31 August 2025 to be eligible for help from the bursary fund in the 2025 to 2026 academic year. Students aged 19 or over are only eligible to receive a discretionary bursary if they are continuing on a study programme they began aged 18 on 31 August 2025 or have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). 

Financial assistance may be available towards transport, compulsory trips, course materials/equipment and Free School Meals.

In order not to delay your application for the September start, we encourage returning and new student to apply early. Please note that students will need to apply for financial support every year of study, regardless of having a previously successful application.

When completing your application, you must provide the required evidence as stated on the application, failure to do some could delay your application. Applications received after Friday 5 September 2025 may not be processed within our standard timescales. If you have applied and submitted the correct accompanying evidence, a member of staff will be in touch with further details at the earliest convenience but may take up to 20 working days.

2025-26 DECLARATION

Financial Assistance Declaration 2025-2026

PROVIDING EVIDENCE 

Evidence uploaded to the Student Bursary Portal must be downloaded as PDF documents, for example if the accompanying evidence is Universal Credit statements, you must log into your account and download the three most recent statements and save them as PDFs. We cannot accept screenshot details. 

Evidence which cannot be downloaded in the form of a PDF will need to be CLEARLY scanned and then uploaded. 

If you require proof of a benefit letter, this can be requested through the Gov website: Get a proof of benefit letter - GOV.UK

Alternative scanning options

If you do not have access to a printer/copier please try the below options: 

IOS 

  1. Open notes app
  2. Create new note
  3. Click on the camera and select Scan Documents
  4. Crop image so that all of the document is clear and visible
  5. Save
  6. Add further documents by repeating steps 3 -5.
  7. Export PDFs via email

Android 

  1. Open Google Drive
  2. Create new
  3. Scan document
  4. Click OK
  5. Save document
  6. Export PDFs via email 

Other

For devices that do not have built in scanning options please download a scanning app e.g. Simple Scanner.

EDUCATION HEALTH AND CARE PLAN STUDENTS (EHCP) STUDENTS

Students should apply for transport assistance through their local county council. For assistance with the college-run coaches for the 2025-26 academic year, please send copies of official letters/emails to transportandbursary@henleycol.ac.uk. Alternatively, full payment can be made for the coach and the transport and bursary team can assist with completing the necessary paperwork from the county council to receive a reimbursement. Payments

BACS payments

Bursary payments will only be paid into the STUDENT'S bank account. It is the student's responsibility to open a bank account in their own name before any bursary payments are issued. Payments will not be paid into another person's account whilst a student account is being set up. If a student is unable to administer their own account please email transportandbursary@henleycol.ac.uk confirming the mitigating circumstances.
