The Henley College is delighted to announce a strategic partnership with MyScienceLand, an innovative educational platform co-founded by two Henley College alumni. This collaboration highlights the College’s commitment to improving teaching and learning by using digital and data-driven tools to support both educators and students.
MyScienceLand, founded by Pranay Lodhia and later joined by Adam Bellman and Rufina Michael, is designed to personalise learning and give teachers a clear view of student progress. The platform helps tailor support to each student’s needs while making it easier for staff to access the data they need to plan lessons effectively.
The idea for MyScienceLand came from Pranay Lodhia’s own experience at The Henley College in 2017. Despite achieving A Levels in Biology, Economics and Chemistry, he struggled with exams because of challenges later identified as dyslexia. This inspired him to create a software solution that could show where each student might need extra help and make data more accessible for teachers.
After graduating with a First Class degree in Chemistry from Leicester University, where he also wrote a dissertation exploring the MyScienceLand concept, Pranay partnered with Adam Bellman, a Business graduate from Oxford Brookes University, to develop a prototype. The project received early support through Santander’s bursary scheme and the EPIC Foundations, which helped bring the idea to life.
The team behind MyScienceLand works with a simple question in mind: Would I have benefited from this? The goal is to improve educational outcomes for future generations.
The Henley College has been focusing on investing in its future, improving the quality of teaching and learning, and making the most of digital and data tools. This partnership with MyScienceLand will give science students new opportunities to learn and help teachers access and use data more effectively.
The platform allows teachers to set assessments and analyse results for individual students or the whole class. Students can also take self-assessment quizzes broken down into specific topics, helping them see exactly where they need to focus their learning.
This collaboration is an important step in The Henley College’s digital strategy and shows how innovation can actively support both teaching and student success.
Pranay Lodhia, Founder of MyScienceLand, said:
"It has been a fantastic few months collaborating with The Henley College and it has been especially rewarding to work alongside some of my former teachers. Throughout this partnership we have gained invaluable insight and guidance that has helped shape the development of MyScienceLand. The team at Henley has been outstanding in their support and I am excited for the next phase of our journey. This September we look forward to rolling out the tool across all the sciences, helping to enhance personalised learning and reduce teacher workload."
