Twenty-one second-year Law students from The Henley College spent their half term in New York City, combining legal insight, culture, and iconic sites into a fast-paced and memorable itinerary.

Led by Law teacher Sharon Rees, who was accompanied by Humanities teacher Andrew Gallagher, the group visited the United Nations Headquarters and the Supreme Civil Court for Manhattan, the same courtroom where Donald Trump’s civil case was heard. They also enjoyed the Rise IMAX ride, a Broadway performance, the Top of the Rock observation deck, and time for shopping and city exploration.

Sharon Rees said, “This was a truly memorable trip. The students gained so much from visiting the US courts and institutions, and it really deepened their understanding of law in context. They were engaged, enthusiastic and a real credit to the College.”

Andrew Gallagher added, “It was a trailblazing experience. I was so impressed by the students’ attitude, maturity and teamwork throughout the week. They represented The Henley College brilliantly and made the most of every opportunity.”

Students also shared their reflections on the experience.
Alecsandra Apostolache said, “The New York trip was truly an amazing experience. Thank you for all the planning, care, and energy you put into making it both educational and unforgettable for all of us!”

Charlotte Taylor added, “I enjoyed discovering NYC, especially Central Park and the Summit, and learned a lot from visiting the Supreme Court and UN building.”

Caitlin Araujo commented, “I thought it was super fun and was really nice to see the difference in how the law works in the US. It was an absolutely amazing opportunity and thank you again for organising it!”

The trip gave students a unique chance to see how law operates in a different country, linking directly to their A Level studies while also creating lifelong memories.
