Following the latest guidance from the Met Office and the issuing of a Red Warning for Extreme Heat across our region, The Henley College has taken the decision to move all teaching and learning online on Wednesday 24th June and Thursday 25th June.

The safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and visitors is our highest priority. Following a risk assessment of our estate and learning environments, we believe that remote learning is the most appropriate course of action during this period of exceptional weather.

All lessons will continue as timetabled via Microsoft Teams and students are expected to attend their online classes and complete all work set by their teachers. Students will receive further information through their college email and Microsoft Teams.

The college campus will be closed to students on both days. In addition, organised trips, visits and other student activities scheduled for Wednesday 24th June and Thursday 25th June will be postponed and rearranged where possible.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and review arrangements should weather forecasts or official guidance change. Any further updates will be communicated via our website, social media channels and student communications.

We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our college community during this period of extreme weather and encourage everyone to take sensible precautions to stay safe in the heat, including staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and following NHS heat-health advice.
