For Eva Lily Worboys, studying at The Henley College has given her the opportunity to balance education with work, sport, volunteering, and personal growth.

Eva is currently studying Applied Law, Media Studies, and Applied Psychology. She enjoys the structure of her applied courses, which allow her to focus on both coursework and practical learning.

“My favourite bit about each course is with my applied A-levels I can get the exam stress out quickly and focus on my coursework, which I am good at. Media is my passion and I love learning about how it works in the way of the world.”

Alongside college, Eva works as a waitress at The Bull on Bell Street and as a repacker at RH Amar during school breaks. She chose The Henley College because it gave her the flexibility to manage her studies while continuing her other commitments.

“I chose The Henley College so I had time to train, work, volunteer and study while also having enough time to rest so I don’t burn out.”

One of Eva’s favourite memories of college has been meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.

“My favourite memory is being able to meet so many people and experience different cultures while also embracing my own.”

Outside the classroom, Eva is heavily involved in rowing as a coxswain at Henley Rowing Club. Looking ahead, she hopes to study Media and Communications in America on a rowing scholarship.

Eva has also made a huge contribution to college and community life through volunteering and ambassador work, completing more than 200 hours in total. She has supported open days, careers fairs, university events, rowing coaching sessions, community sporting events including the Henley Half Marathon, and even content creation projects around the College.

She believes her time at The Henley College has helped her grow both personally and academically.

“It’s set me up to push myself further and not rely on others for support or grades. I’ve also been able to spend a lot of time with my mum and learn who I am as a person while also furthering my education.”

With her passion for media, commitment to volunteering, and ambitions in rowing and higher education, Eva is making the most of every opportunity available to her at The Henley College.

With the flexibility to balance study, sport, work, and wellbeing, The Henley College gives students the independence to grow in confidence and succeed both academically and personally. At the same time, students are supported throughout their journey by dedicated Personal Professional Development Tutors, specialist welfare support focused on helping every learner thrive.
