From Friday 27th to Monday 30th March, 29 of our Performance Rugby boys attended the Portugal Rugby Youth Festival in Lisbon. This is a very prestigious event as it is the greatest youth rugby tournament in Europe and an international event bringing together teams from different countries for a weekend of competitive rugby.

The Henley College boys played extremely well, winning 5 out of 6 games, only losing to Portugal's under 19s National team. A special mention to the The Coach's Player of the Tournament and to the Players' Player of the Tournament.

The Coach's Player of the Tournament - Marlowe Rundle for his outrageous run in the first game against ACE College Coventry in which he highlighted his physicality shown throughout the tournament.

The Players' Player of the Tournament - Jake Bruton for playing every minute of the tournament, his consistent desire to showcase his attacking skill set helped push The Henley College through games, and his close to 50m penalty in the second game against ACE College Coventry.

Throughout the tour, The Henley College Performance Rugby scored 132 and conceded only 40. They finished 5th out of 12 on points difference and won the JCS Trophy. Here are the results:

Portugal U19s – Loss

La Sarlle (USA) – Win

Coventry (UK) – Win

Wath Academy (UK) – Win

Coventry (UK) – Win

RVAC (ESP) – Win
