Entry Requirements: English grade 4, Maths grade 4, PE grade 4. Plus two grade 4s from your remaining subjects.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course must be taken alongside one A Level or Applied subject – this must fit in the timetable matrix and entry requirements for each course must be met.

This course consists of 10 units, spread over two years. There are no exams on this course and it is assignment based work only.

1 Careers in the Health and Fitness Industry

2 Health, Wellbeing and Physical Activity

3 Professional Personal Trainer Practice

4 Client Screening and Health and Fitness Assessment

5 Anatomy, Physiology and Kinesiology for Personal Training

 

Year 2

6 Exercise Requirements and Contraindications for Specific Populations

7 Circuit Training

8 Personal Training Methods and Programming

9 Nutrition for Personal Training

10 Business, Marketing and Technology for Personal Training

LIFE AFTER HENLEY

Students can progress to becoming a Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer, and can apply for membership of Chartered Institute of Management for Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) after successful completion of this qualification. 

Students can also progress to higher education degree programmes.

ENRICHMENT

Students are required to complete at least 30 hours of enrichment per academic year whilst studying at The Henley College, learn more about Enrichment here.
