COURSE OVERVIEW

This qualification provides a broad basis of study for the engineering sector.

This qualification is equivalent in size to 1 A level and it has been designed as one third of a typical study programme, normally alongside A levels or other applied general qualifications at level 3.

COURSE STRUCTURE

CONTENT

The course is made up of 4 basic elements that are assessed by external exams and more practical design and project tasks which are assessed internally.

Engineering Principles - Applied mathematics
Engineering Applications - Students explore how engineers use their understanding of materials and processes to devise sustainable solutions to engineering problems
Engineering Design - Students create a design solution in response to a design challenge using CAD and other modelling techniques
Engineering Project - Students apply project management skills to develop practical solutions to an engineering problem

LIFE AFTER HENLEY

COMMON ROUTES FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS:

This course prepares students for further study at university in engineering or science courses, or for apprenticeships in related industries.
