COURSE OVERVIEW

This qualification is ideal for those wanting a career as a gym instructor, employment in the leisure industry via and apprenticeship for those wishing to progress on the following BTEC options:

Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sport

Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science

Level 3 BTEC Technical Diploma in Personal Training

This qualification has been developed in consultation with employers in the sport and active leisure industry and the professional body for sport. This qualification is also linked to the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) professional standards for a gym instructor.

LIFE AFTER HENLEY

This course has been developed in consultation with employers and industry specialists. The content is up to date, engaging and fit for purpose, to ensure students have the skills, knowledge and understanding of sport, physical activity and the related industry required for the 21st century.

Centre assessed units with practical and wider project-based assessment opportunities, as well as examined units are included. Students will practically apply their skills and knowledge in preparation for further study, an apprenticeship or the workplace, whilst developing professional, personal and social skills through interaction with peers, stakeholders and clients, as well as theoretical knowledge and understanding to underpin these skills.

All units will support the transferable skills required by employers such as communication, problem solving, time management, research and analytical skills.

ENRICHMENT

Students are required to complete at least 50 hours of enrichment per academic year whilst studying at The Henley College, learn more about Enrichment here.
