Social Studies: Level 2 Diploma in Public Service
This course offers an excellent foundation year for those with a broad range of interests. On successful completion, at Merit level, you may progress and enter a range of Extended Diploma courses, for example CCLD, Health and Social Care, Sport and Exercise Sciences and Public Service. The course is assessed mainly on coursework and gives an opportunity to increase communication, numeracy and research skills.

You will plan a fitness programme, taking into account health and safety issues, and take part in the fitness tests required by some organisations. The importance of teamwork will be explored in some depth and you will be given the opportunity to improve your skills as a member of an effective and successful team as well as examining your rights and responsibilities. The course offers an excellent opportunity to develop individual potential and self awareness to enhance life chances.
You will also attend a multi-activity residential course, which will bring together and reinforce many of the subjects you have studied.
