Follow these ten steps to get your place at The Henley College

  • At least 36 points (see how we calculate your points)
  • At least four grade Cs in appropriate subjects
  • Or a Level 2 Diploma at merit or distinction
  • At least grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language or English Combined
  • Access to Extended Diploma in second year requires an overall grade of at least MP (Merit Pass) in your 90-Credit Diploma in the first year

  • At least 48 points (see how we calculate your points)
  • C in GCSE English Language and Mathematics
  • Science subjects require grade B in GCSE Maths
  • Arts/Humanities subjects require grade B in GCSE English Language or English Combined

2. When to apply


As early as possible from October for entry the following September.

4. Interview


  • Will take about 30 minutes
  • With a trained advisor or Programme Leader
  • We'll tell you if you need to bring anything with you on the day (eg an art portfolio or a prepared audition piece)
  • For music courses you'll have a short test
  • Bring your parents/guardians if you like
  • What sort of thing will we ask you? Why have you chosen to apply for a place at the College and the course(s) you have listed? How do you think life at College may be different to life at school? What are your interests and hobbies? What are your future aims?

5. Getting an offer


If you are successful we will give you a conditional offer letter either at your interview or by post within 3 weeks of your interview.

6. Accepting the offer

Complete and return the forms sent with the offer letter as soon as possible to confirm your conditional (on the final results) place.

8. Transition activities

  • Be ready to make the leap from GCSE to A Level by working on specific course-related summer projects.
