The department is often lucky enough to be host to visiting lecturers who lead workshops or give talks on their specific subject area. Getting students to work with professionals is of prime importance to the department.
Tom Davey
Students work with RSC actor Tom Davey who led a workshop on playing Shakespeare. Davey is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Guildenstern in Gregory Doran’s adaptation of “Hamlet”, opposite David Tennant as Hamlet.

Bennett Andrews
Students got a dance workshop from T-Bird Sonny. Bennett currently plays the role of T-Bird Sonny in “Grease” at The Piccadilly Theatre, London.

Scene Productions
Professional Theatre Company,Scene Productions, bring their production of Brecht’s“Threepenny Opera” to the college to enhance both AL and Vocational students in their
understanding of this influential theatre practitioner.
Kirk Baltz
Students get a chance to develop their acting skills with actor Kirk Baltz over the course of a week long workshop. Internationally renowned as an Acting Coach, Kirk is also a working actor and has appeared in films such as “Dances With Wolves” and “Natural Born Killers” and TV shows such as “Will and Grace” and “24”. Kirk is probably best known for the role of Officer Marvin Nash in Quentin Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs”.

Philip Bulcock
The Performing Arts students were visited by actor Philip Bulcock, who plays Four Season Nick Massi in the West End musical Jersey Boys.

Bulcock, who has starred in a number of films, including The Dark Knight and 28 Weeks Later, spoke to students about his experiences.

Matthew has worked extensively with choreographer Matthew Bourne and is best known for playing the title role in Bourne’s version of “Edward Scissorhands”.
