Trips

One of the most important aspects of the course in assisting students develop as performers are the trips to see live performance work.

Level 2 and Extended Diploma students normally see three plays during the course of an academic year and A Level students five. On top of these visits, all performing arts students will see the in house productions during the year. Henley is ideally suited for theatre trips to London.

Extended Diploma students have a visit to Disney Land in Paris as an integral part of their first year and it is not uncommon for Extended Diploma students to tour their productions both in the UK and abroad. Previous tours have included Spain and Greece.

Level 3 Diploma students on their annual trip to DisneyLand, Paris where they gain an insight into how one of the World's largest performing arts companies work and get to meet Disney staff and attend educational seminars.

A highlight of this year’s trip was when student Diane Elliot got picked from the audience to take part in the Disney Stunt Show. These pictures show Diane in the Stunt Show arena and then meeting the Stunt Show presenter with her classmates.

Tossa de mar

The Year 2 Level 3 students took their production of Lorca’s “Blood Wedding” to the Tossa de Mar Festival of Theatre and Music, Spain.

The production ran for two nights to audiences of over a hundred and was very well received.

BTEC National Diploma students also visit Disneyland, Paris, as part of the first year of their course. This three day trip allows students a unique and very privileged insight into this world famous entertainment company.

Despite being an enormous amount of fun, the visit includes seminars in the park that shed light on how the park operates, how the shows work, how the parade is run, how the performers live and work, etc
