COURSE OVERVIEW

The course entails mandatory units looking at Programming, Social Media and Cyber Security. Optional units of study include Website Development, Games Development and Mobile App Development.

The Extended Certificate is the equivalent of an A level but it is assessed through an equal balance of coursework and exam.

COURSE CONTENT

The course entails mandatory units looking at Information Technology Systems (this covers a range of IT topics, such as hardware, software, security, laws and ethics). Creating Systems to Manage Information Using Social Media in Business Data Modelling

LIFE AFTER HENLEY

COMMON ROUTES FOR IT STUDENTS:

The qualification allows learners to progress to a degree in an information technology discipline or a degree where information technology-related skills and knowledge may be advantageous.

This qualification carries UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers as meeting admission requirements to many relevant courses such as BA (Hons) in Computer Arts, BSc (Hons) in Fashion Buying Management, BSc (Hons) in Software Development for Animation, BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance.

ENRICHMENT

Students are required to complete at least 30 hours of enrichment per academic year whilst studying at The Henley College, learn more about Enrichment here.
