Amnesty International College Campaign

Today we were petitioning for 700 people trapped in Eastern Ghoutan, an area of Syria currently under siege, to evacuate them to Damascus where they can receive urgent medical care.

The petition is being run by Amnesty International so we wish to raise awareness and collect the 35,000 signatures that Amnesty needs. We are currently at 30,900 signatures and many students today helped us to achieve a small portion of this.”

Freya Ruparel and Ciara O'Donnell are current students campaigning to help those most in need.

You can help by adding your signature to the campaign at Amnesty International. https://www.amnesty.org.uk/issues

Teacher Andrea Walter, who runs the group says “If you are a current student and want to join our Amnesty International group come to R142 on Monday lunchtimes for our weekly group. All students are welcome.
