Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders

BTEC Level 2 Students Thrive in Unloc Workshop at The Henley College

Today, BTEC Level 2 students enjoyed a beneficial career skills workshop with Unloc, a not-for-profit organisation initiated by and for young people, motivated by the desire to empower others as changemakers. The organisation is dedicated to enhancing the essential skills needed for work, academic pursuits, and navigating the adult world.

In line with The Henley College motto, 'Question Seek Grow,' this workshop underscores the development of independence and resilience, reflecting our continuing commitment to investing in students' skills.

The workshop focused on equipping students with practical skills that are highly advantageous for securing apprenticeships, employment, or pursuing further studies.

These included:

- Enterprise challenge

- Motivation and resilience

- Teamwork and communication

- Careers and future planning

Vice Principal Eamonn Egan remarked,

"Today has been really inspiring, for staff as well as students. I was greatly inspired to see the standard of discussion our Level 2 students engaged in, the thinking they put into their future careers, and the way they prepare themselves for their next steps. I have no doubt all of the students attending our Skills Masterclass Day today have great futures awaiting them."
