Award Winning Safeguarding at The Henley College

Our safeguarding team are proud to announce that The Henley College has been given a Safeguarding Award with Thirtyone:eight. After a thorough assessment, we are the first further education college to be awarded this prestigious award.

Our approach to safeguarding was also praised in the most recent Ofsted inspection:

Learners feel safe when on the two college campuses. They know how to report concerns should they have them. Staff and learners do not tolerate bullying, harassment and abuse and, as a result, instances of these are very rare. All learners value highly the well-being team, whose members provide swift support and guidance. As a result, learners settle into college quickly and feel comfortable to be themselves.

Safeguarding & Student Welfare Manager Jay Smith said,

Our HEART values: high expectations, enterprise, accountability, respect, and teamwork shape our approach to safeguarding. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility – and we hold one another accountable, for the safety and care of every member of our community. This award is a testament to the progress we have made, and our ongoing commitment to the safety of all our learners.
