Katarzyna achieves her dream of joining British Airways Cabin Crew

Travel & Tourism student Katarzyna Majerska with her teacher Hannah McPhee

Katarzyna joined the College to study Level 2 Business and progressed to Travel & Tourism Extended Diploma Level 3.

It has always been her dream to work as Cabin Crew for a major airline, and we were delighted to hear that after an intense interview and selection process, Katarzyna has achieved her goal and has been offered a cabin crew position with BA.

We caught up with Katarzyna to find out why she chose to study at The Henley College and what she has enjoyed during her time here.

“My name is Katarzyna and I came to the College from Newlands Girls School in Maidenhead. Travel and tourism was always something I wanted to do and progress to as I am very passionate about travelling and this course was also related to my dream job as a Cabin Crew.

I liked the college straight away. The staff and teachers seemed very friendly and I liked how diverse the college is, with many students coming from different backgrounds and cultures. I also liked how the college was committed to providing high and outstanding education to all students.

While being at College I have made long lasting friendships with many lovely people who are open minded and goal orientated.

My passion for travelling and visiting beautiful destinations influenced my decision to study Travel & Tourism, and the course has helped gain so much useful knowledge about the travel industry and I have developed good team working skills, which is important for my chosen career. The course is very interesting and helps you progress on to many different jobs in the tourism sector.

I have chosen to become an Air Hostess because there are many perks to this job, including travelling around the world!. I thought I would be an ideal candidate for the role as I am a good multitasker, I interact well in teams and I work well under pressure.

In the future I want to develop more skills and grow more as a person, and I would like to work my way up to Cabin Crew Supervisor or Senior Cabin Crew.

The Henley College helped me develop many useful skills and has made me more confident as a person. For example, before coming here I was very nervous about doing presentations in front of lots of people but the course has helped me overcome the fear of public speaking.

The course has also made me develop and improve my organisational skills, but most importantly, attending The Henley College has helped me develop long lasting friendships.

My advice to students choosing which A Levels or vocational courses to study is, do whatever you are passionate about and think about your biggest interests and how they match with your personal skills. Doing what you love will lead to your happiness and feeling more fulfilled, and you will become more productive, you’ll inspire others and most importantly you’ll succeed. Don’t give up and work hard until you achieve your goals! Believing you can means you’re already halfway there."
