Former Students Compete on University Challenge

David Caldecott and James Broadbent represent Oxford Brookes on University Challenge last week.

Congratulations to two former students who appeared on University Challenge last week.

David Caldecott, from Henley, and James Broadbent, from Wallingford, represented Oxford Brookes University. They competed against Birbeck, University of London and narrowly missed out in the final few minutes with 205 points.

David is a Bsc Biology student and described it as “surreal” and a “once in a lifetime opportunity”.

James is studying a BA International Relations and Politics and said, “When we heard our team was successful in making it on, I was ecstatic to say the least. As I was later to learn, I would be carrying on a family tradition in that my grandfather appeared on a similar quiz-style show back in the 1960s. I was honoured to be carrying his mantle.”
