Enterprise Academy Launches at The Henley College

The Henley College is excited to announce the creation of a new enrichment experience for students called the Enterprise Academy.

The launch of the Enterprise Academy is aimed with a heavy bias towards employability skills where students can develop meaningful content from exploring the world of careers, enterprise and higher education.

The Enterprise Academy focuses on a number of projects each term and will develop skills in Speaking, Listening, Creativity, Aiming High and Teamwork as they create engaging social content to share with students of the college and with their peers nationally. They will project plan things like Podcasts, Vlogs and Blogs as well as manage a social media network dedicated to informing our students with content that will encourage them to develop their thinking for their next steps.

Director of the Enterprise Academy, Year 1 student, Monte, said “I feel privileged and thankful for the opportunity of being made Director; it’s a difficult job but the team have all helped massively and bought their specialised skills to the table. Joining the Enterprise Academy has not only given me great work experience but has also given me the chance to make some really nice friends across both years.”

One of the first projects under their belt was attending the college’s STEMS Careers Fair interviewing exhibitors and fellow students to create compelling TikTok videos and Instagram reels. Their next endeavour is to effectively advertise the college’s Christmas production of Evita.

Student Cissy said “I joined the Enterprise Academy so that I could do hands-on, creative tasks that will complement my Media Studies course and I’m hoping that I can take part in creating content that will represent the college.”

Ty Sterry, Head of Careers & Enterprise at The Henley College, says “I am delighted to work alongside these talented young people. They already show themselves as having skills which make them highly employable and would bring huge value to their future employers. I am excited to see what they can produce during their time at college which will benefit the entire student community when talking about the world of work and higher education”
