The Henley College Rugby Team in Partnership with Ealing Trailfinders

We are excited to be able to announce our new link with Ealing Trailfinders. Read more below for some details of a recent trial that took place back in March.

The Henley College, in partnership with Ealing Trailfinders and the Henley Hawks Rugby Football Club held trials for Under-18s on 14th March at the Hawks ground in Henley, shortly before the closure of sporting activities due to the coronavirus.

The staging of the trials was the initial part of a new partnership formed by the Trailfinders and The Henley College, which will kick into gear for the 2020/21 season.

A number of under-18s trialled for the College, and some high quality rugby was played, with players looking forward to a September start at The Henley College.

The trials were taken by The Henley College’s assistant coach, Max McMinn, with Nigel Duddings (Hawks Director of Rugby), Eamonn Egan (Henley College Vice Principal) and Sandra Wickens (Henley College Curriculum Leader) in attendance.

The Henley College is now recruiting under-18s to join the rugby team in September, in partnership with Ealing Trailfinders and Henley Hawks. The Henley College offers the opportunity to play in the Association of College’s League, and trials for Ealing Trailfinders under-18s Academy (EPP).

The College works students’ timetables around their sports choices and offers an exceptionally wide range of A-levels and vocational diplomas (BTEC) to interest all students.

The Henley College has high levels of progression to university, higher apprenticeships and into employment, and is above the national average for sixth form colleges in England and Wales.
