"The College is a friendly place."
“Hi, my name is Andre Raubenheimer. I am from London and went to Marylebone Boys School. I’m studying Sport & Exercise Science (Extended Diploma) Level 3 at The Henley College and I am on the Rugby Elite Programme.
I was attracted to studying at the College because of the fact that I could play a high standard of rugby many times a week with top quality coaches alongside doing a course that I’m interested in and that I knew I would enjoy.
The College is a friendly place. Everyone’s up for a chat and it’s a fun place to be.
I enjoy my course because there is a practical element alongside the theory. It’s a nice break to being in a classroom every day.
The College supports me well as my teachers are always offering extra help and ensuring that you’re comfortable with all the work that has been set.
I’m coping pretty well with lockdown. I’ve been able to do quite a bit of training, as the rugby coaches have put together a variety of training plans and workouts for us, from fitness to strength training to mobility.
During lockdown I’ve been speaking to the boys from my course everyday which is good as were open to talking about anything. This helps loads as you feel comfortable to talk about some issues you may be having and knowing you can talk about it is always helpful.
When I finish College I want to go to Brunel University to study Sport & Exercise Science as well as continuing to play rugby to the highest possible standard.
I would recommend The Henley College as it’s a really easy place to fit into and have a fun time whilst studying.”
