Special Constable speaks to Public Services students

Former Public Services student, Phoebe Holmes, returned to College to speak to current students about working for the Thames Valley Police.

Phoebe, who studied Public Services Extended Diploma and qualified as a Special Constable last Autumn, spoke to students about her training, her first arrest, and the exciting and fast-moving nature of the job.

The students had a lot of fantastic questions for Phoebe who talked about both the serious and bizarre incidents she has responded to over the last few months.

Phoebe brought in her equipment and was happy to demonstrate the use of handcuffs and arrest techniques on students Visaal and Jake. Kat even took the opportunity to try on the uniform as she is interested in a career in Public Services after College.

Next year Phoebe will be coming back to College to help with the delivery and assessment of Police related units, which will help with employer engagement and will enhance the students' experience.

If you would like to embark on a career in the Public Services, whether in the Police force, the Army, or Ambulance service, then apply now to study Public Services Extended Diploma Level 3 this September >> CLICK HERE
