Local Sustainability Expert Talks to Aspire Students

We welcomed local sustainability expert Dr Michael Warner to collaborate with Aspire students in the form of an environmental think tank.

Michael is one of the world’s leading authorities on local content in the context of the oil and gas, mining, and infrastructure sectors. He spent time with students discussing his upcoming presentation that he’ll be delivering to a wider audience and eventually to The Henley College students.

The presentation, which was likened to a Ted Talk, covered renewable energy including the promise of offshore wind farms and delivered the positive message that there is a growth in jobs and you can have a career in saving the planet.

It was an excellent opportunity for our very own students to shape the Personal and Professional Development curriculum.

Personal & Professional Tutor, Catherine Mattingley, commented "Our Aspire team were delighted to welcome Michael Warner of CLCI (Center for Local Content Innovation) to review and collaborate on material for a future presentation at The Henley College. It was so refreshing to hear about how bright our future can be thanks to the energy and commitment of our young people and the power of science to harness our country's wind resources"
