Health and Social Care student receives an offer from The University of Birmingham

Zahrah Hussain joined us from Cressex in 2016, completing Level 2 in Childcare and currently studying Health and Social Care Level 3. She has been offered a place to study Social Work at The University of Birmingham. Read more to find out about Zahrah's journey here.

“I chose to attend The Henley College because I felt that the teaching was of a high standard, therefore it would be the perfect environment for me to achieve my goals.

The Health and Social Care course gave me an insight into the different career paths I could explore and how I can help others, something I love to do. The different variety of modules such as research based teaching and practise convinced me I would be able to extend my skills and knowledge in order to qualify, and continue my education down the Health and Social route.

The teachers at The Henley College have been amazing. The constant support given throughout the years from the Health and Social Level 3 team has been remarkable. Teaching aside, they have helped me continuously, and I wouldn't have been able to aim for the top grades without the lovely ladies.

My ambitions for the future have remained the same since I was a child, I want to help make changes to peoples lives. I'm struck by the insufficient services by the NHS stopping individuals getting the help they require. I have been offered a place at the University of Birmingham, to study Social Work. Social work for me is the right step forward, its where I feel I can make a difference.

One person has the power to impact and change many lives. It’s incredible to watch people grow and become healthier versions of themselves.“
