Year 1 students provide valuable feedback in our Autumn survey.
Before Christmas we asked our First Year students to complete an online and anonymous survey, asking them about their experience at the College so far. The response has been fantastic, with lots of really positive comments about why students chose to study with us and what they are enjoying about College life.
Starting College during a global pandemic has been exceptionally challenging for students across the country, but we’re really proud of how our first years have adapted not only to the change from their previous school environment to the more independent College atmosphere, but also the ever changing landscape of learning during an international crisis and all the uncertainty that entails.
Freedom and independence is a strong theme running through the student responses, with many new students really flourishing in an environment where they are given their independence and treated as adults. This is something we pride ourselves on as a College as we understand it helps prepare students for when they move onto university where they are expected to self-manage their time and studies.
A number of students spoke about how the wide range of A levels and BTECs we offer has enabled them to study subjects unavailable at other schools and colleges.
Students also spoke of the inclusivity of the College and how our teachers and staff are supportive and kind and create a really communicative and respectful environment for those learning with us.
Thank you to everyone who took part, we really appreciate your openness and feedback.
