Despite the many challenges and restrictions of the past few months, lockdown has given many people the opportunity and time to do something creative. For some this has meant discovering new talents and learning new skills to produce a wide range of artistic pieces.
We asked our staff and students to share with us some of the creative work they have been producing during lockdown. We had a fantastic response and have been truly impressed with the amazing work we have been sent.
Suzie King (Health and Social Care teacher) has sent us photographs of work she has produced over the last 4 months.
"The paintings are all painted in acrylic and all are over A1 size.
The hares are hand built in earthenware clay, fired and finished using paints and sprays. I made hares as I was lucky enough to see a few when out for my once a day walk back in March/April.
The four lockdown ladies represent expanding figures during unusual times. All my friends were telling me how they couldn’t stop eating!
The telephone wire scene is another daily scene on my morning walk.
The coast seascape in pastels comes from a 5am view in Keyhaven, sea wall.
The coast landscape is a imaginary sea view and reminds of the salt plains in Alicante Spain. Where I should have gone on holiday!"
Student Mia Agar has sent us her lockdown art. Mia said: "I draw anthropomorphic characters, more commonly known as furries. I've been drawing and taking some commissions over lockdown.
