BUSINESS LEVEL 3 STUDENT SECURES DIGITAL MARKETING APPRENTICESHIP

Steph, who has just completed their final year of their Business Extended Diploma Level 3, has secured a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship at Blue Zoo, a BAFTA award winning animation studio.

Steph will be working alongside the Marketing Coordinator on various tasks, and their responsibilities will include managing the studio’s social media channels, writing blog posts, and supporting in the running of various programmes and initiatives.

We caught up with Steph to find out more:

"Blue Zoo are an animation studio founded in 2000 by three classmates from Bournemouth University. Their very first project was “Blue Cow” for CBeebies, and from there the team have gone on to win several BAFTA awards. The application process was quite straightforward; after filling out my initial application and detailing why I wanted to work at Blue Zoo, I was then offered an initial virtual interview with their Marketing Coordinator, Grace, and a member of their Talent team.

To prepare, I made sure to research the studio and their work, as well as current marketing trends and how I would approach their social media. I actually heard back from them on the same day, and was offered a second interview the following week with one of their co-founders, Tom Box, as well as their Marketing Coordinator. I made sure to do extra research on their social media channels, opportunities they could take, and growing trends that they could implement to benefit the business.

I also made sure to send a follow-up email to both Grace and Tom after this interview, thanking them for their time and reiterating specifically what projects I’d be keen to work on. I then heard back later that day and was told I had been successful and that they wanted to offer me the role!"

Steph was given the Principal's Award in our Education Awards last summer due to their profound and wide-reaching impact on the College community.  As the college Equality Diversity Inclusion (EDI) officer, Steph worked hard to make The Henley College an environment where every student regardless of gender, race or religion feels that they are important and that their voices are heard on all levels.
