Award Nomination for Exceptional Staff Member

Our Industrial Placement Coordinator, June Hogan, has been nominated for a Sixth Form College Association (SFCA) Award for Enrichment and Employability.

June is responsible for setting up a programme of work placements for students and then monitoring their progress.

June was nominated for the SFCA award by her colleagues for her tremendous commitment to the development of the Industrial Placement programme for students. June has spent time meeting with students, supporting them through the placement process, and helping them to develop employability skills while they are working for their employer.

Her commitment to the placement scheme has resulted in an incredibly high retention rate for students with more than three quarters remaining on the scheme.

The College Principal Satwant Deol said: "A well deserved nomination for a truly amazing person who is passionate about finding students T level and work placements, as well as seeking apprenticeship opportunities for our young people.”

June responded by saying: "I am so passionate about the work that I do in developing employer relationships with organisations such as Cisco and Softcat. I am incredibly grateful for the nomination and look forward to seeing the impact these initiatives have on our students’ employability and their careers beyond The Henley College".
