Course Overview
The course is split into three parts where students will try out different areas of art, media (TV or Film) and photography.

Assessment: |
Assessed through written and practical means. Students will present work in sketchbooks / digital blogs and in different practical formats. Students will be assessed on research, development and experimentation and final outcomes. Pass, Merit or Distinction grade is obtained at the end of the course. |

Entry requirements: |
3 A Levels (with one in a creative subject), a portfolio of work and 3 GCSEs (including Maths and English) at grade C/4 or above.

You may be required to complete an activity before you start in order to help introduce you to the subject. Check back in the summer term for more details.
Part 1: Learning Skills and Context
The first eight weeks involve two-weekly rotations which guide students through approaches and processes important in areas of art, media, photography and communication. Students will learn about the creative process, to think outside of boxes, reflect on work that is produced and think analytically and critically about the messages within creative work.
Part 2: Development and Progression in chosen route
Part 3: Proposal and Realisation in chosen route
The Level 4 UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design provides a transition from general education to specialist art, design and media education. This enables students to make an informed decision when applying to university or seeking employment within a related industry.
