Course Overview
This course will cover all aspects of modern engineering. It is designed to give you a range of engineering skills that will enable you to onto either an apprenticeship of further study on the Level 3 Extended Diploma. The course is heavily focused on real work solutions to simulated problems.

You may be required to complete an activity before you start in order to help introduce you to the subject. Check back in the summer term for more details.
During your year of study you will learn about the engineered world, engineering information, Maths, Secondary Machining skills, Electronic Circuit Design and Construction. Machining Computer Aided Design, Maths and other units. You will also find out the many ways how engineers can improve the lives of ordinary people. Time will also be spent in our fully equipped workshops learning how to use a variety of machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.
This is an exciting hands-on course where you will be expected to solve problems. The course will give you a good general engineering knowledge that can lead on to a variety of well paid jobs in this expanding area.
Last year students went on to various destinations including further education on the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering or starting apprenticeships.
