Level 2 First Award


The BTEC First Qualification is a Level 2 certificate course for learners wanting an introduction to Early Years Education and childcare. The knowledge, understanding and skills learnt in studying a BTEC First Early Years Certificate will aid progression to further study and prepare learners to enter the workforce in due course.

Entry requirements:

Applicants should have three graded GCSEs to include English Language and Maths at grade 3. Pass at level 1 in Functional Skills English and Maths. Selection is by interview and places are subject to a satisfactory reference.


Textbooks £50 DBS check (currently £56) and travel to placements
