The BTEC First Qualification is a Level 2 certificate course for learners wanting an introduction to Early Years Education and childcare. The knowledge, understanding and skills learnt in studying a BTEC First Early Years Certificate will aid progression to further study and prepare learners to enter the workforce in due course.

Applicants should have three graded GCSEs to include English Language and Maths at grade 3. Pass at level 1 in Functional Skills English and Maths. Selection is by interview and places are subject to a satisfactory reference. |

Students will undertake practical training in various childcare establishments through work placement hours, and study core units in childcare on site at The Henley College. We will help arrange for you to complete your DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, this will be explained to you at enrolment.
BTEC Firsts motivate learners and opens doors to progression into further study and responsibility within the workplace. On completion, this course will act as a stepping stone towards a level 3 Early Years qualification or enrolment onto an apprenticeship course
