Students gain valuable work experience at TESCO Extra in Slough

Business Level 2 students from The Henley College recently visited the TESCO Extra store in Slough as a part of their curriculum. Students were able to see first-hand, the relevance and application of business concepts learnt in the classroom, in the real world, which helped authenticate curriculum work.

This visit to the TESCO Extra Slough showcased a variety of careers from business, allowing students to make an informed decision about careers available in retail with a market leader such as TESCO. The students had the opportunity to meet enthusiastic colleagues within the organisation, who changed and enhanced their perception of careers in retail and the work that they carry out. Students gained an appreciation of the requirements and demands of working in an industrial environment.

The next stage of this process will be inviting a TESCO colleague to The Henley College on Thursday 23 March to interview students for various positions in TESCO. This mock exercise will help the students to gain knowledge about and participate in simulations of interview procedures in TESCO.

We are looking forward to working with TESCO in the forthcoming years.
