Georgia, aged 16 from Woodley has just been selected as the new Sports Ambassador for The Henley College for the #thisgirlcan campaign organised by SportEngland. The campaign is aimed at encouraging young women to be more active and take part in sport.
Georgia’s first task will be to design activities for female students based on feedback from a recent survey at the college. She said: “We have an exciting range of activities planned over the forthcoming year. This is not just for Sports students; we aim to involve all female students.”
Satwant Deol, Principal and Chief Executive of The Henley College, has praised Georgia’s “impressive” start in her new role.
She said: Georgia has a real “can do” attitude and I am sure she will be very successful at encouraging other students to take part in the #thisgirlcan campaign alongside their studies. There’s lots of research that shows exercise helps learning and we look forward to seeing the results!”
