Ski trip to Jasper, Canada!

Seventeen Henley College students and two members of staff enjoyed a week long ski trip to Jasper, Canada over the Easter break. The weather and skiing conditions were pretty much perfect on each of the five days at the Marmot Basin resort in the Rockies National Park.

The group flew from Gatwick to Calgary before a coach transfer through the spectacular Rocky Mountains. In contrast to many European resorts at this time of year the slopes were sparsely populated meaning the students were able to ski freely on a great variety of runs with the guidance and technical input of the resorts excellent ski instructors.

The College students enjoyed the facilities (mostly the swimming pool and outdoor hotubs!) at the Lobstick Lodge hotel and were able to walk into the sleepy town centre in the evenings for coffee and some retail therapy.

Sports lecturer, Danny Batty commented: “the students were a credit to The Henley College. Their general conduct and manners set a good example to younger pupils from other English schools sharing the same hotel.”
