Politics Palace of Westmister Tour

On Monday 5 November (Guy Fawkes night), a group of first year A-level students took park in a ‘democratic access tour’ of the Palace of Westminster sponsored by John Howell Member of Parliament (MP).

The Politics students were assigned a knowledgeable guide who accompanied them on a 75 minute tour that recounts the history of the Palace of Westminster and describes how the business and traditions of both Houses of Commons and Lords contribute to the day to day workings of the UK Parliament. This was gave them the perfect opportunity to place their theoretical knowledge, analysis and discussions into a real life context.

They even caught glimpses of John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons, going about his daily tasks! A thoroughly enjoyable and informative day.
