Geography and Environmental Students enjoyed an exciting trip to Christchurch Bay this week to perform field studies in Keyhaven and Barton-on-Sea!
The Geography Students studied coastal erosion and strategies to protect the coast while the Environmental Science students studied the conservation and importance of salt marshes in biodiversity and the process of ecological succession.
The students were sketching cliff profiles while listening to our Geography teacher, Emma Cook, talk about coastal erosion and the geology of the cliffs.
One of our Environmental Science students Katy said "The location was good, it had all the right conditions to allow us to the correct data for our investigation. The weather was good as well, with many geographical landmarks for what we are studying."
Lucy added "Lovely day, beautiful setting and on topic with geographical sites as well as lots of wildlife and biodiversity"
