Geographers hit the East End

Students survey and collect data in London.

On the last week of the autumn term the first year Geography students went on a field trip to the East End of London. Starting in the gentrified Spitalfields 'hipster' market they looked at urban processes taking place in this lively inner city area.

The students enjoyed a survey of the environmental changes as they moved towards the less affluent Brick Lane and beyond. Many photos were taken of the contemporary street art and lunch was brought from a plethora of stalls selling a wide range of flavours.
