Former Student and West end star visits our performing arts students

BTEC Performing Arts students were delighted to welcome ex-student Dominic Andersen from Maidenhead back to The Henley College.

Dominic led a workshop accompanied by fellow actor Charlotte Jaconelli which took the students through a performance from Heathers the Musical which they are both currently appearing in at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

Dominic said “It’s fantastic to be back here at the college and participate in this workshop. Studying performing arts here gave a great grounding on all the things that are essential to be successful in your career, including how to audition for drama schools. It’s great to see The Henley College continuing to produce up and coming talent”

Since achieving a BTEC in performing arts, Dominic who came to The Henley College from the Reading Blue Coat School went on to gain a place studying Musical Theatre at the prestigious Arts Education Schools in London. He then went on to star in productions such as The Rocky Horror Show live, a world touring production of Cats, Heathers the Musical and TV shows such as Being Human and The Crown.

He is just about to start filming in a new TV production series called The Two Wolves.

Charlotte Jaconelli was a runner up on Britains Got Talent in 2012 and has had a recording deal selling over a million albums worldwide. She is currently performing in Heathers the Musical.

Students at The Henley College have regular opportunities for enrichment, workshops and talks.
