EDI Day

The Henley College EDI Event organised by the first year Student Leadership group took place on the 1st March at both Rotherfield and Deanfield sites

This year the money raised from the event is to go to Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF), which aims to provide medical care where it is needed most throughout the world.

There were many different activities going on during the day. At Deanfield there was live music from students with amazing performances from Sam, Kyran, Ferdan, Henry, Hazel, Holly, Natasha, Henry and Olivia. There was also karaoke, with students and teachers rising to the challenge wonderfully with an amazing rendition of ‘I Want It That Way’ by the first year Drama A Level class, who were joined by drama teacher Neil McCurley!

In the Deanfield canteen there was a Wii set up, on which students could play Mario Cart or create their own Mii. There was also Henna, which was very popular.

Rotherfield however was not left out, as on both sites members of Student Leadership were selling EDI themed badges and fortune cookies containing positive messages within them which were received very well by the students. There was also a raffle running with a prize of a hotel chocolate gift package. Across both sites there was a food passport scheme running, where in return for a purchase students would receive three free raffle tickets!

On the day we were able to raise £128.96, which will all go to helping people receive better medical care.
