A Celebration of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The Henley College has held an event to celebrate Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Students and staff were invited to browse a range of displays and stalls from Amnesty International, the International Relations Discussion Group, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Group and the Library. The Pathways department provided homemade cakes and lollipops and held a raffle.

Live music was performed in Deanfield Refectory by Music teacher Steve Morano and Henley Headway Choir also collaborated with the College's Music department for their annual concert. A representative from mental health charity MIND gave a talk on Well-being.

Beryl Richardson the College's EDI Manager said: 'The event clearly demonstrates the diverse culture of the College and celebrates difference. This was the first EDI Event of its kind and has proven to be a really good platform for the future.'

A member of the College's EDI Steering Group added: 'The EDI Summer Event is a wonderful opportunity for the wide-ranging groups within the College to come together and celebrate. It is a reinforcement of the inclusive and caring philosophy which is at the heart of the College.'

Proceeds from the event were split between MIND and Pathways in recognition of May being Mental Health Awareness Month.
