Transport

There are transport facilities available to most students attending the College. If you are entitled to College transport, or to a season ticket for public transport, please do not come into College by car. Parking in Henley is very limited, difficult and expensive.

The College provides subsidised coach transport for Oxfordshire students. In addition, Oxfordshire County Council may subsidise students aged 16-19 years who live in the catchment area and more than three miles from the College. Further information is available from Student Services.

Berkshire students aged between 16 and 19 years should contact their Unitary Authority regarding subsidised transport.

Buckinghamshire students need to contact Buckinghamshire County Council in Aylesbury regarding travel subsidy. Students who are full-time and aged between 16 and 19 years, who attend their nearest school or college for their chosen course of study, may be entitled to this subsidy.

Application forms, details on subsidies and routes for the above counties will be available in late June from Student Services.

Students must apply each year for transport help. If your pass is only termly, or half-termly, you must remember to re-apply for the new one at least two weeks before the start of term. If your pass does not arrive in time you will have to pay the daily fare which is not refundable. Bus passes must be shown to the coach driver on every journey.

There is a no smoking policy on all College buses. Students who abuse this policy will have their pass taken away and no refund will be given. You must carry your College Identity Card, as well as your bus or train pass, to show on request.

Enquiries about transport can be made through Student Services D104 extension 4010

The College operates a permit system for the students’ car park which has a capacity of 50 places and is located in Tilebarn Close, off Deanfield Road. Permits are readily available from Reception at Deanfield for a nominal fee. Failure to purchase or not to display the permit while using the car park could lead the owner being fined under the colleges rules and bye-laws. There is a pedestrian access path to the Rotherfield site. Students vehicles are not allowed to be driven or parked on any of the College premises, including the Rotherfield Drive. Vehicular access to the Rotherfield Site via Paradise Road is not authorised. If you have a disability you should discuss your requirements with your Faculty Head, as you may be entitled to a permit to park on site.

If you have to come by car and are not using the students’ car park please do not park in places which inconvenience residents in the surrounding area. It is important that we show consideration for our neighbours. Failure to park appropriately will result in a fine, or your car being clamped or removed by the police.
