Accommodation

There is no on-site accommodation for students, but a list of accommodation in the area is available from Student Services.

As this accommodation has not been visited by College staff, students / parents / guardians must vet the accommodation themselves. Prices range from £75 - £150 per week for either bed and breakfast, half board, room only - with use of kitchen and bathroom, in a family house.

If any of this accommodation is not available or acceptable to you, then you can refer to the Henley Standard (available on Thursday evening/Friday), Reading Chronicle or the Citizens Advice Bureau near the Town Hall. Estate agents also have rooms and flats to rent, although they often will not rent to students under 18 years old as a contract needs to be signed by a person over 18 years. The Tourist/Information Office has up-to-date bed and breakfast lists.

It is up to each student, parent, guardian and landlord/landlady to arrange final details and accept responsibility for accommodation. If you think the accommodation is not suitable for students, or have any worries, please let Student Services know.

Payment is made direct to the landlord/landlady by the student and they may want monthly payment in advance and a deposit which will not be returned to you if there are any outstanding telephone, gas or electricity bills, or breakages. There are agencies who advertise in the local papers but they may charge a fee.

For further information please contact Student Services D104, ext 4010.
