If your family’s income is less than £30,810 a year, and you are 16-18 years old, you may be eligible for an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA). If you are over 18 you may be eligible for the ALG, a government grant that can pay up to £30 per week for full time learners aged 19 and over for a first level 2 qualification or for a first level 3 qualification.
