Study Leave and Examinations
A Level Students: Examination Study Leave and the start of A2 teaching
It is compulsory that first year students attend A2 classes, which start on 6 June. Students will not be allowed to continue with A2 subjects in September if they fail to attend the lessons in June and July.
A2 students: Teaching ends Friday 27 May (unless there are special arrangements with your subject tutors). Examination study leave is from 7 June to the end of term.
All Vocational Courses and IB continue as normal.
Examinations
It is the student's responsibility to be present, prepared, on time, at the right place and on the right day for the appropriate examination. If there are problems, please contact the Examinations Officer immediately. If students are unable to attend any exam for any reason the Exams Office must be notified before the start of the exam. Failure to do so will result in invoices for non-attendance. Simply informing the Faculty Administrator will not be sufficient.
Results dates and procedures:
All students are issued with a green information leaflet, which gives details of leaving procedures and notification of results. A and AS Level results are published on 18th August 2011. These will be available for collection from Deanfield between 09:00 and 11:30 am. If not collected, results will be posted second class at the end of the day. Alternatively, students and parents can access results by logging on to the College portal from 09:00 on publication day. If a student wished to nominate another person to collect results on their behalf they should send a letter of authorisation to the Exams Office with details. The nominee should then bring photographic ID on results day.
The IB results will be available in College on 5 July at 3.30 pm in D134 when staff will also be available in D134 for advice. IB results will be available online on 6 July at www.ibo.org after 3 pm. A personal pin number for access will be issued in tutorial.
GCSE results will be posted first class on 25 August, and will not be available for collection at the College. BTEC certificates will be posted as soon as received from the Exam Board.
